Painting Headaches!!!

Nothing to do with painting furniture...this time!

It's our house.

Talk about blister in the sun!!
Remember that song? By the Violent Femmes?? Oh I used to love that song. I think of it every time I walk past the front of our house and see this...

We've been waiting a while to get it fixed.

Sigh.

Lets just say that 'blister in the sun' is no longer on my playlist, I'm now over it. :)

How many painting headaches have you had? How did you deal with it?

We moved into our home 3 years ago, and I lived and tolerated our PEACH home for 2 years. Last year I decided that we had to paint it. My husband and I painted out two story home ourselves, we finished in about a week and now my home is a beautiful cream!

Oh yes - my first house was yellow. Everyone knew it as the yellow house; but not 'the happy bright sunshiny yellow house', it was the 'oh I'm sorry you haven't painted it yet yellow house'! Thank goodness I met my husband who couldn't stand it any longer and helped me paint it!

I really want to paint my new home. I like your color, what is it? My home now is yellow with kelly green trim. Eeeewww. But I just moved in and have to tackle the insides first before I do anything to the outside.

I'm dying to know what color your home is as well!

Thanks!

The color is called admirality grey and it's by Australian company Haymes. It took a while to find the right one...some Greys look too blue!

I love that song too, I still play The Femmes occasionally when I'm not playing kids music! We had to get our house reclad when we renovated and ended up cheating and get prefabricated cladding. Apparently never needs painting, although I'm sure someone will need to in 50 years time, but it won't be me! It's way more durable and holds up to the kids playing soccer and the dog trying to jump up to the windows. While the kids are little and destructive, practicality wins! I do love our colour though, beautiful.
