A Quirky Furniture How-To

Well this how-to is kind of a no-brainer really...I bet at some point in your life you've done this.

You may even be doing it right now :)

Sometimes when you see someone else doing it/talking about it, it reminds you how easy it is and perhaps you'll do it again.

So what on earth am I talking about??

Well, I'm talking about instantly updating the decor in your home for little if no money and about two minutes of your time.

Specifically - a chair/couch/sofa.

Maybe something like this.......

that you inherited and love that you just haven't got around to recovering all 10 of those cushions yet :)
(there's 2 x chairs as well!!)

Or maybe you bought a new couch five or so years ago and you don't quite love it as much as you did when you first bought it, but it's still got a lot of mileage left in it.

What do you do?

You raid your linen closet, your mum or grandmas linen closets or you go thrifting

and hopefully find a cool old tablecloth or doona cover or sheet

or a vintage bedspread...

that is just you...

and you spend a good two minutes tucking and flattening and then...

ta da!!

You have a piece of furniture that is a bit more you!!!

Plus you can throw it in the wash, dryer and throw it back on.

Easy peasy!!

This one has had a table cloth tucked over it for an instant update.

It's a fantastic way to try a little color in your home too!

You could even just drape the fabric over the back of the couch/chair or do each cushion in a different color.

The options are endless!!

So off you go now! Check out what's stashed in that linen cupboard of yours and update your couch.

Change is as good as a holiday!!

Happy tucking!!

I have done that with an outdoor lounge suite that I am yet to recover, but inside, no way, the kids would jump on it and it would look messy in 5 minutes!

That's so funny - yes I remember doing that!! Unfortunately my current coach is so bad not even this would help it! I really lovely the cloth you used for the chair, great colour!
